Seat Allocation
The Lalitpur Scholarship is awarded to one student and is exclusively open to residents of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

Application Process and Required Documents
Applicants must first apply for admission to the MA in History & Philosophy (MAHP) programme at the Southasia Institute for History and Philosophy (SiHP). The application must follow the official admission guidelines provided by the institute.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to carefully review the application instructions, eligibility requirements, and document submission procedures before applying. All necessary academic and supporting documents must be submitted as part of the MAHP programme application.
After submitting the application, the MAHP admissions committee will review all applications based on academic qualifications, motivation, and overall suitability for the programme.
Applicants who meet the programme’s requirements may receive a conditional offer of admission, indicating provisional acceptance into the programme, subject to the completion and verification of required documentation or other conditions specified by the admissions office.
Receiving a conditional offer is mandatory, as only applicants with this offer will be considered for the Lalitpur Scholarship.

As part of the scholarship consideration process, applicants are required to submit short written responses (approximately 200 words each) addressing the following:
- Financial Need Statement – Explain why financial assistance is necessary to pursue the MA programme. Describe your financial situation, family responsibilities, or other constraints limiting your ability to fund your studies.
- Personal and Social Background – Describe your social, cultural, or educational background that has influenced your academic interests and aspirations.
- Academic Motivation – Explain your interest in studying history and/or philosophy and how this programme will contribute to your future academic, professional, or social engagement.
4. Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Proof of Annual Household Income – Issued by the relevant authority or Ward Office.
- Property Evaluation Certificate – Indicating current market value of property, issued by the Ward Office.
- Proof of Residence – Confirming permanent residence in Lalitpur Metropolitan City (e.g., recommendation or certificate from Ward Office or Municipality).
- Two Reference Letters – Preferably from academic institutions or faculty members familiar with the applicant’s work.
- Bank Statement – Covering the last six months.
- Other Supporting Documents – Any additional documents demonstrating financial need.
The scholarship selection committee will evaluate applications based on financial need, academic potential, and alignment with the objectives of the Lalitpur Scholarship, ensuring that the selected candidate benefits from both academic support and community-focused opportunities.
